Issues:
- When on the Views - Virtual Apps & Desktops page, the page is blank and there are no sessions displayed.
- The Topology View shows the error "Topology is not configured" (see image below).
Troubleshooting Steps:
- When on the Views - Virtual Apps & Desktops page, check the top right corner to make sure that the page is not filtered. For example, you see "Custom Search Applied" which means data is in the search pane. Also, ensure there is no text in the quick filter.
- When on the Views - Virtual Apps & Desktops page, try selecting each of the tab options at the top. These pages will be filled in as applicable to your license/environment. (The options "App Servers" and "Published Apps & Desktops" are applicable to Citrix Virtual Apps, formerly XenApp and "Virtual Desktops" is applicable to Virtual Desktops, formerly XenDesktop. Ensure you are on the correct tab for your environments configuration.
- Go to the Configure - Inventory page and make sure the line item(s) for your delivery controller(s) are showing a green box in the Agt column.
- If there is a RED box, this indicates the delivery controllers are not connected.
- Select the line item for the delivery controller that is not connected and click the Edit button. A new window opens:
- Does the delivery controller have an account applied to it in the "XenApp & XenDesktop monitoring" Section?
- If no, proceed.
- If yes:
- Make sure that these settings are only configured on 1 delivery controller per Citrix site.
- Make sure that the account listed is a member of the Windows Administrator group on the machine. This account is used to run the MonitorIT Agent Service. If this was not the case, you will need to manually start the MonitorIT Agent Service then allow about 5-10 mins for data to populate.

- Select the line item for the delivery controller and click the Edit button at the bottom of the page. A new window, opens:
- Does the delivery controller have an account applied to it in the "XenApp & XenDesktop monitoring" Section?
- If so, connect to Citrix Studio on the DDC and confirm the account applied has Help Desk Administrative Rights or Full Administrative Rights.
- We've seen in some environments where Help Desk Administrative Rights is not enough access. If this is the permission that is assigned also give the user Read Only Admin rights in addition to Help Desk Admin, restart the MonitorIT Agent Service, wait 5-6mins and see if this resolves the issue.
- If no, check your other Delivery Controller(s) as these settings are only to be configured 1 DDC per Citrix Farm/Site.
- If no Delivery Controller(s) have the settings configure see Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 7.X, 7 18xx & 7 19xx Monitoring Configuration Guide
