Citrix Broker Services errors have numerous event IDs, many of which can cause application/desktops to become unavailable for users. This article details some of the more common errors and how to troubleshoot them.

Citrix Broker Service - Event ID: 2013
An unexpected exception occurred while the Citrix Broker Service processed an HTTP request.
This error can be caused by database connectivity issues. First, ensure that the Citrix Database server is reachable. If this doesn't resolve the issue, restart the relevant Citrix Delivery Controller.
Citrix Broker Service - Event ID: 1151
The Citrix Broker Service cannot contact the license server. Please ensure that the license server is functioning correctly and that the details identifying the license server are correct in the XenDesktop configuration.
This error occurs when the Citrix Environment can't contact the license server. Ensure the license server is reachable and the license details are properly entered in Citrix Studio.
Citrix Broker Service - Event ID: 1065
The Citrix Broker Service failed to determine the base settings needed for virtual desktop agent of machine.
This error can be caused by degraded performance on the Delivery Controller or VDA machine. This issue may also be caused by the following registry keys.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Citrix\DesktopServer\MaxTimeBeforeStuckOnBootFaultSecs DWORD Value: 30000
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Citrix\DesktopServer\MaxTimeBeforeUnregisteredFaultSecs DWORD Value: 30000

Citrix Broker Service - Event ID: 1201
The connection between the Citrix Broker Service and the database has been lost.
This error is caused when Citrix loses connection the database server. This can be caused by many third-party backups making the database unreachable or network issues. In Citrix 7.12 Local Host Cache can be turned on, this allows sessions to continue to run while database connectivity is severed. Even if Local Host Cache is being used, rapid occurrence of this event can lead to the Local Host Cache not being used.
